January 2, 2010: The SDLP executive committee recently voted to join the Coalition to Advance Fiscal Reforms. This decision follows and is consistent with our previous recommendation to vote “No” on Proposition D. It is important to understand that joining this movement does not require that we immediately support any specific proposal. We reserve the right to take a formal position on any future proposal or ballot initiative. It does mean that we understand the challenges that lie ahead, and that we are committed to providing a libertarian viewpoint as the issues are discussed and/or implemented. We urge San Diego residents to read the Roadmap to Recovery and to participate in one of the remaining forums that Carl DeMaio will be hosting in the near future. Information about the next two forums follows.
